I was the lead art director and designer for the weekly farmer’s market at the Miami Design District (MDD). The project involved creating visuals that would help distinguish this event from other MDD happenings. In order to keep the branding in line with the sophisticated nature of the neighborhood while attracting the local public, I decided to use photographs of monochromatic produce. With these produce I created a collage that could then be applied in different ways onto all subsequent collateral.
Miami Design District Digital Interface Design
While keeping in line with the MDD’s branding, I worked with our art director and lead web developer to design an interface that would allow for easy navigation and help our visitors better understand the layout of the neighborhood. By testing the interface with numerous users, we were able to determine the key issues that needed to be addressed to help our clients find what they were looking for while helping them accurately position themselves in relation to their desired destination.

a. FOR KAREN WALKER
“a.” is a capsule collection designed by artist Alizée for New Zealand fashion brand Karen Walker. The line is inspired by the artist’s work which reflects her connection to the Caribbean and its colorful and culturally rich traditions. Heavily influenced by the fauna of her native island, Alizée chose to illustrate her love of the mimosa flower in her design. The flower, whose petals are actually stems, resembles an outward burst and in its entirety reflects the deep and soulful energy that is at the center of Caribbean life.

Amazon is a leading online retailer that prides itself on fast effective delivery of its products. The design focuses on using the children’s tale of the Dutch Sinterklass to showcase Amazon’s successful holiday deliveries. Using old Dutch woodblock print style, the story unravels just as a traditional folk art tale would.
Heavily influenced by Swiss minimalism, my tombstone has developed through the study of simplicity and uniformity in creating a holistic design.
My death will be the culmination of my being, the moment when I exist only as a memory. These memories remembered and retold by those I have touched during my life will be my greatest accomplishment, and how I live on. This perpetual existence is symbolized by a circle, and my spirit is symbolized by blown glass—transparent, imperfect and ethereal. A smaller wooden circle is engraved with a sound wave of my voice where I vocalize my last wishes:
“To always find balance and serenity through love, family, friendship, loyalty and creativity.”

Coalescere (Latin): To unite, grow together, become one in growth. My chair represents the three cultures, and to an extent identities, that have shaped me into the person I am today. These three identities often pulled me in opposite directions and forced me to face difficult situations. This is why my chair is shaped as a stool - I never can or want to rely on it for complete comfort. Butit is precisely because of this discomfort that I was able to grow into the person that I am today and to learn to accept things that I cannot control. The chair’s seat is clear and through it one can see the three legs symbolic of my three identities - going in opposite directions but ultimately converging, holding me up and forcing me to grow.
